Max’s first Norwegian series, MILF of Norway, to be released in May
- The new show, directed by Rune Denstad Langlo, follows a woman in the midst of a midlife crisis who unexpectedly becomes an internet porn star
Max’s much-anticipated European debut is fast approaching (see the news), and the first Norwegian Original series set to land on the platform is titled MILF of Norway. The eight-episode show will be out in Norway and internationally on 21 May. After its launch, a new episode will drop weekly on Fridays. The scripted comedy, penned by Cathinka Nicolaysen and Christian A Owe, zooms in on Lene (played by Mariann Hole), a woman in the middle of a midlife crisis who unexpectedly becomes an internet porn star.
The spark in Lene’s marriage is long gone, and when she suddenly loses her job at a prestigious advertising agency, she feels lost and humiliated, wondering what to do next. One drunken night, she posts a scantily clad picture of herself wearing a traditional folk costume – mostly as a joke – on the website InsideFans.

Hole explained: “A show about internet porn and a midlife crisis was not exactly on my wish list, but the script was incredible. […] Combined with a dream team of actors and Rune Langlo on board as director, this was an opportunity I could not pass up. It’s the dream role I didn’t know I wanted,” she added.
MILF of Norway is based on an idea from Birgitte Bruusgaard and Jørn Berge Larsen. The latter also serves as the producer for Norwegian outfit Brandpeople AS. The executive producers for Warner Bros Discovery are Rebecca Medbøe and Bjørn Asgeirsson.
