FESTIVALS: The 13th Bucharest IFF Ready to Kick off

    BUCHAREST: The 13th edition of Bucharest IFF (28 June - 2 June 2017) is organising a competition for feature films and short Romanian films, as well as a meeting with the most acclaimed Romanian filmmaker Lucian Pintilie, who will launch a new edition of his book Bricabrac.

    The oldest film festival in Bucharest will open with Jim Sheridan's The Secret Scripture and will wrap with Road to Mandalay directed by Midi Z.

    The international jury for the feature films competition is composed of the Chilean-born Paris-based actor and theatre director Brontis Jodorowsky, Carla Vulpiani from Milano IFF, the German actress Franziska Petri, the Italian director Paolo Genovese and Laurențiu Damian, the director of the Romanian Filmmakers Union (UCIN). There will also be a press jury.

    All the feature films screened at the festival have their Romanian premiere and will not be distributed in domestic cinemas afterwards.
