Seven new films will be co-produced by France and Italy. The Fund Commission, which supports the co-production of cinematographic content between Italy (MIBACT) and France (CNC), met in Rome on 30 November at MIBACT's General Directorate for Cinema, where it allocated funding to four Italian projects and three French projects from a total of 18 projects reviewed as part of the second call for 2017 (projects submitted before 15 September). The total amount of contributions comes to €235,000.

was selected last year at Locarno), produced by Dugong  and Luxbox, as well as by Domina Maris by Silvia Perra (director of various shorts including La finestra selected at Angers), produced by Ombre Rosse and Blue Monday. €35,000 in financial aid was awarded to Le scienze inessatte by the stop-motion director, illustrator and animator Stefano Bessoni (Krokodyle, awarded at Sitges), produced by Pilgrim and Les Contes Modernes.

However the biggest share of funding was awarded to a French initiative, which took part in TorinoFilmLab this year (read the news here): Alpha by the Bosnian director Una Gunjak, produced by Kinoelektron and Stayblack Productions. Two other French majority projects were also awarded €30,000 each: Les bois verts by Guillaume Mainguet (director of the short film La promeneuse starring Clotilde Hesme) and Les petits chevaux de Tarquinia by the actor, director and screenwriter Matthieu Rozé. The former was produced by Acrobates Films and Stefilm International, while the latter, based on a novel by Marguerite Duras, was produced by Tabo-Tabo Films and Redibis Film.
