PRAGUE: The futuristic series Carnival Row, produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, and starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, wrapped shooting in the Czech Republic on 14 March 2018. Serviced by Stillking Films, Carnival Row is among the most expensive international productions filmed in the Czech Republic since the introduction of film incentives in 2010.

The domestic spend is estimated at over 59 m EUR / 1.5 billion CZK, for which the allocated incentives were 10.27 m EUR / 261 m CZK.

The eight episodes are directed by Paul McGuigan, Jon Amiel, Andy Goddard and Anna Foerster, who in 2015 directed the feature film Underworld: Blood Wars in the Czech Republic, with Stilking Films line producing.

The story takes place in a fictional neo-Victorian town, where mystical beings, forced to flee their war-torn homeland, live alongside local people. The story follows the investigations of a series of murders that threaten the fragile peace in the city. Orlando Bloom plays the detective Rycroft Philostrate.

The series was shot entirely in the Czech Republic throughout 108 shooting days and after almost five months of preparations. According to David Minkowski from Stillking Films, the shooting was mostly on set. The fictional Victorian town was built on the Barrandov Studio's back lot, with 400 craftspeople and artisans working on the site. Locations included Prachov Rocks, the city of Liberec, Frýdlant and Krnsko castles.

Shooting started in October 2017. The premiere is planned for 2019.
