The Conductor’s plot is set in post-Soviet Russia in 2003 and focuses on the character of Tom Blixen, a Swedish investment banker. The protagonist believes he can somehow handle the corruption that is spreading throughout the local business community, but after closing a risky deal, he will be forced to fight oligarchs, politicians, their violent protectors and, first and foremost, himself and the ghosts of his past. Tom is portrayed by Adam Pålsson, best known in Sweden for his involvement in Jonas Gardell’s series Don't Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves and for playing the lead role in Hannes Holm’s biopic Ted: Show Me Love.
