The Makavejev Case or Trial in a Movie Theater wins at Belgrade FEST

Serbia's biggest film gathering, the Belgrade International Film Festival FEST, held its 47th edition from 22 February-3 March. The festival, which also serves as the platform for the Serbian national film awards, has announced its winners.

), which explores the position of an artist in socialist Yugoslavia, focusing on the political and social climate that allowed public platforms to condemn the film WR: Mysteries of the Organism by the recently departed Dušan Makavejev, won the Belgrade Victor Award for Best Serbian Film. The movie had its world premiere at FEST.

In most of the main national categories, the awards went to productions in which Serbia is a minority co-producer: Croatia's Bobo Jelčić won the Best Director Award for All Alone [+see also:
