FESTIVALS: Domestic Wins Finale Plzen Grand Prize

    PLZEN: The Czech/Slovak coproduction Domestic directed by Adam Sedlak took home the Golden Kingfisher for best film at the 31st Finale Plzen national festival of Czech films, which ran 11-16 April 2019.

    The best documentary award went to Breaking News directed by Tomas Bojar. The festival jury was presided over by Polish writer/director and Berlinale Silver Bear winner Tomasz Wasilewski.

    An abbreviated Industry Days programme presented a shorter selection of projects in a private session for invited industry professionals.

    The festival drew 14,500 admissions to 127 projections over six days.
