Written by the director together with Valérie Ranson-Enguiale, the film is set in June 1940. The de Gaulle couple is faced with the military and political collapse of France. It is a time for decisions and for jumping into the unknown. Charles de Gaulle goes to London to try and continue the fight, while Yvonne de Gaulle, forced to flee with her three children, tries to escape the march of the Germans…

Produced by Farid Lahouassa and Aïssa Djabri for Vertigo Productions, De Gaulle is co-produced by Les Films de La Baleine, SND, France 2 Cinéma, France 3 Cinéma and Les Productions du Renard. Pre-bought by France 2, France 3, Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature is also supported by the Ile-de-France region and by Pictanovo ( Hauts-de-France region). The eight and a half weeks of shooting, which began on 26 June, will end in London with Jean-Marie Dreujou as Director of Photography (nominated for a Best Cinematography César award in 1997, 2000 and 2005, and already a collaborator of the director on Nos Patriotes). French distribution and international sales will be handled by SND.
