NEM Zagreb Brings TV Industry to Croatia

    ZAGREB: TV and film content creation is the subject of the first NEM Zagreb convention, which takes place 11 -13 December 2019. Top international TV industry professionals will participate in an intensive line-up of panels, workshops, screenings and a pitching contest.

    The three day event will begin with the first of three full-day workshops on writing a TV series, followed by a Q&A with the team behind the first three-country CEE TV coproduction, The Pleasure Principle directed by Dariusz Jablonski.

    Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) will have a strong presence, with a welcome speech by HRT’s General Director, a screening of the HRT historical documentary-drama The Age of the Uskoks, a presentation of original production in Croatia, and opening and closing receptions hosted by HRT. RTV Slovenia will host a screening of their new six-part series The Lake.

    International panels will address topics including: how to create a format TV show with global potential; how to identify non-English content with broad international appeal; global production in the Balkan region. The BBC is among companies from the UK, Israel, Greece, and the Nordic region.

    Speakers include the Oscar-winning Polish production designer Allan Starski, Croatian DoP Vanja Černjul, AMC Networks International Executive Vice President Harold Gronenthal, Polish producer Dariusz Jablonski, U.S. producer/writer Frank Spotnitz, and British producer Gabrielle Tana.
