), revolves around a creative couple and their young son, who leave their urban life in Copenhagen behind in favour of an isolated forest in Sweden, where they hope to reignite the spark in their relationship and find themselves as individuals. But they soon learn to be careful what they wish for, as they are forced to fight for their lives against identical copies of themselves. The leading couple will be played by actors Mikkel Boe Følsgaard (the TV series The Rain, The Good Traitor [+see also:

) revealed some details to Cineuropa about the project’s artistic objectives: “With this movie, we are trying to create a film for the time we live in – a film about individualism versus companionship and self-sacrifice, about finding the balance between one’s ideals and reality. The idea is to combine the effectiveness of the thriller genre with the depth of psychological drama. This film will be a little scary because of the shock effects. But mostly, it will scare us to see what we are capable of when faced with the fact that we’re not as unique as we think we are.”

Superposition is being produced by Danish studio Beo Starling, with support from the Danish Film Institute and DR. The project, currently in development but nearing pre-production, will be filmed in Danish and shot in Sweden. Its release is scheduled for summer 2022.
