The fifth edition of the European Genre Forum gets ready to kick off its Zagreb event

The European Genre Forum (EGF), a training programme that aims to boost the careers of future European players in the genre-film industry, is organising its fifth edition this year. After the first module of 2021, the Directing Lab, took place online during Amsterdam's Imagine Film Festival in April, the teams behind seven projects are gearing up for the Producing Lab, which coincides with the Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival and will take place from 1-3 July, also in the virtual space.

The event will feature a one-on-one script advisory session with Simona Nobile and Petri Kemppinen, plus a number of talks and case studies, including "Festivals, Markets and Funding Opportunities" with Chris Oosterom, "Digital Platforms: A Virtual Way to Make Projects Come True" by Katalina Tobón, "The Joy and Pain of the Selecting Process" by Nobile, "Opening up to Me" by Kemppinen, and "How Hatching [+see also:

On the last day, Karlo Funk will start preparing the participants for the final module of the 2021 EGF, the Marketing & Packaging Lab, which will take place at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in November. At Tallinn, the projects will also get to take part in a public pitching session as part of the festival's industry section.

The EGF is a collaboration between the Imagine, Fantastic Zagreb and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festivals.
