Specific Conditions

  • Creative, artistic and technical participation must be proportional to the financial participation of each co-producer (at least 1 creative personnel, 1 qualified technician, 1 lead actor and 1 supporting actor. A leading performer may be counterbalanced by no less than 2 qualified technicians), exceptions subject to prior approval of the competent authorities of both co-producing countries.
  • The director shall be either Italian (EU member State) or Uruguayan national.
  • Artistic and technical staff shall be Italian (EU member State) or Uruguayan nationals or residents.
  • Participation of third-party country performers or technicans may exceptionally be permitted if the film so requires, subject to prior approval of the competent authorities of both co-producing countries.
  • Location shooting, interior and exterior, shall be done in one of the co-producing countries, exceptions be permitted if the film so requires and subject to prior approval of the competent authorities of both co-producing countries.
  • Lab work and post-production shall be done in the major co-producing country.
  • For films of particular technical quality and spectacular artistic value with productionbudget = or > ITL 1 200 000 000 (620 000 € or the equivalent in Uruguayan pesos) a minority participation of not less than 20% may exceptional be limited to a financial contribution alone.
  • For films with production budget > ITL 2 400 000 000 (1,24 M€ or the equivalent in Uruguayan pesos) a minority participation of not less than 10% may exceptionally be permitted.
  • A financial contribution alone higher than 20% may exceptionally be permitted, subject to prior approval of the competent authorities of both co-producing countries.
